Job Summary

Apply refractory materials using specialized equipment to line and repair furnaces, ladles, and high-temperature equipment in a steel mill environment. Mix materials, maintain equipment and tools, and operate machinery while following standard operating procedures. Participate in sustainable improvement processes like 5S, Kaizen, and Total Productive Maintenance. This safety-sensitive position requires a high school diploma, English proficiency, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds while working extreme temperatures. Candidates must hold a valid driver's license and may work swing shifts, 12-hour shifts, or emergency call-outs.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to speak and read English
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (or more in certain shops)
  • Ability to withstand the physical pressures of constant standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, sitting, extremes of hot and cold, as well as carrying, lifting, pushing and pulling heavy objects
