Steel Fitter - 1st & 2nd Shift

Job Summary
Steel Fitter welders on 1st and 2nd shifts responsible for layout, fit, and welding of fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms. Read weld blueprints, measure work pieces to specifications, and use tools such as jacks, pry bars, hammers, saws, welding equipment or torches, and grinders. Work with handheld torches and/or plasma cutters; position, fit, and align tack parts; operate overhead and jib cranes. In-house job training offered; responsibilities include completing a range of duties related to heavy fabrication and assembly of structural steel for marine, construction, mining, energy, and related industries. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read Blueprints and drawings
- Ability to use a tape measure and convert measurements into decimals
- Following verbal and written work instructions
- Regular attendance required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unasssited
