Job Summary
Fabricate and assemble metal components including handrails, stair systems, ladders, platforms and related steel pieces from blueprints; perform layout, measuring, fitting, cutting, welding, grinding, and finishing operations; assemble per fabrication drawings and specifications; ensure products meet dimensional and quality standards before release; read and interpret shop drawings and technical documents; identify fabrication issues and communicate solutions; operate FCAW welding equipment and maintain safe work practices in an indoor fabrication shop; support production schedules in a first-shift environment with occasional overtime; require high school diploma or equivalent, experience in miscellaneous metals fabrication, ability to read blueprints, attention to detail, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds; Richmond, VA location; early morning schedule with potential overtime and weekend work; PPE required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in metal fabrication, particularly involving miscellaneous metals, rail systems, or similar fabricated products
- Proficiency with FCAW welding processes; welding certifications are considered an advantage
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication documents
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Effective organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments in a production-focused environment
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work in an industrial setting
