Job Summary
Provide individual and small group assistance to Title 1 students to reinforce educational programs and instruction. Prepare instructional materials, maintain classroom discipline, and conduct planned activities using designated methods. Assist in the preparation of instructional materials, maintenance of required record keeping, and the administration of Title 1 screens and assessments. Work with children, parents, and school personnel while upholding moral character and maintaining confidentiality per district standards. Adhere to OSHA safety regulations and the district's communicable disease control plan. Regular attendance is an essential function of this safety-sensitive position. Work 178 days a year for 6.5 hours daily under direct supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Must be highly qualified
- Two years of study at an institution of higher education with the ability to provide transcripts showing 48 completed semester credits or 72 completed quarter credits
- Associate's (or higher) degree
- Passing score on the Praxis exam
- Physical ability to adhere to OSHA and district safety regulations
- Work within the district's communicable disease control plan (blood borne pathogens)
- Awareness of the existence and potential exposure to hazardous chemicals as identified on the MSDS sheets
- Ability to work with children, parents and school personnel
- Moral character as required of teachers
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when associated with the Klamath County School District
- Regular attendance
