Job Summary
Steam mining and support equipment while performing general yard cleanup, assisting mechanics, and executing day-to-day tasks directed by the Maintenance Supervisor. Conduct equipment walk-arounds, safety checks, and field-level risk assessments to ensure all machinery operates properly. Report any necessary repairs, incidents, or near misses to the maintenance team or supervisors immediately. Maintain compliance with company, client, and legislated safety policies using appropriate PPE. Review safe work plans and hazard assessments prior to job commencement. This physically demanding role involves working in adverse conditions across Syncrude, Suncor, or Syncrude Aurora & Kearl sites. Candidates must hold a valid Class 3 Driver's License with Air Brake Endorsement.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class 3 Driver's License with Air Brake Endorsement
- Must be able to operate a standard transmission vehicle
- Must be a self-starter
- Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
- CSO Certification
- OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness
- Silica Awareness
- Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness
- Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness
- Field Ergonomics
- Ability to provide a recent Driver's Abstract
- Pass Breath Alcohol Test
- Pass Urine Drug Test
- Pass Fitness-to-Work Health Assessment
- Pass Audiometric Testing
- Pass Vision Screening
- Pass Background Check
- Class 3 License (with Air Brake Endorsement) to be obtained within the first 3 months of employment

- Experience operating forklift, bobcat and loader
- Aerial Work Platform (AWP) and Fall Arrest Certification
- Access to Suncor, Syncrude and Syncrude Aurora & Kearl

- High school diploma, GED, and/or post-secondary education
