Job Summary
Design and lead engaging STEAM programming for K–8 youth, including LEGO robotics and hands-on activities that foster curiosity and skill-building. Coordinate day-to-day operations for assigned programs, managing scheduling, site setup, supply logistics, and equipment maintenance while ensuring safe, welcoming environments. Support the integration of STEAM curriculum across other Camp Fire initiatives like No School Day Camps and Afterschool, facilitating onsite assistance and guest speaker events. Maintain a safe physical and emotional environment through trauma-informed behavior practices, conflict resolution, and responsive youth engagement. Collaborate with the Program Manager to evaluate program quality, utilize data for continuous improvement, and participate in organization-wide planning sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field (Ex: education, non-profit management)
- 3+ years experience managing, planning and executing youth programs or events
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Direct experience facilitating hands-on learning activities with children or youth
- Experience managing program logistics, including scheduling, supply preparation, and basic administrative tasks
- Valid driver's license
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR, or ability to obtain certification prior to start date
- Ability to meet physical demands of active youth programming, including standing, walking, lifting, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Must be able to stand, walk, run, bend, crouch, and lift objects during program observation and participation
- Some programs require extended outdoor activity in a variety of weather conditions
- Applicants will need to pass a full background check prior to a job offer
Desired Qualifications
- Experience developing or facilitating STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) curriculum or themed youth programs
- Coursework or degree in STEAM-related fields
- Background working with diverse communities
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities
