Job Summary
Stay Housed Director leads NSO’s Stay Housed initiative, overseeing programs that provide services to self-represented litigants in housing matters. Builds and manages a diverse team, collaborates with partner organizations (e.g., Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City University School of Law, Oklahoma County Bar Association), develops and evaluates court-based and community programs, ensures compliance with grant and reporting requirements, designs clinics/workshops, and maintains plain-language legal information. Requires a JD and strong supervisory, program-development, budget-management, and stakeholder-relations skills; must communicate effectively with judicial officers, court staff, the public, and partners, and be able to work across diverse populations with confidentiality and sound judgment. The role is based in Oklahoma City, with travel as needed, and may involve working from other NSO properties.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- active bar membership not required
- supervisory experience required
- minimum of 3 years’ experience in legal services or with the court system
- experience working with low-income individuals, especially housing issues, strongly preferred
- preference for prior experience with program development
- valid driver's license and ability to become an approved driver under NSO’s insurance policy
