Job Summary

Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on stationary airport equipment including conveyor belts, escalators, HVAC systems, and baggage handling machinery. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues using diagnostic instruments while adhering to safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, collaborate with the maintenance team on larger projects, and assist in installing or modifying new systems. Respond to after-hours emergencies via on-call rotation to minimize downtime and support sustainability initiatives through energy-efficient practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in equipment maintenance and repair
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Must have a valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
  • Pass a background check and drug screen
  • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
  • Must be able to reach with arms and grasp with hands
  • Must be able to push, pull
  • Must be able to crawl and crouch, at times, in confined tight spaces
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, kneel
  • Must be able to climb and work at elevated heights
  • Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
