Job Summary
Maintain and repair building, grounds, and fixed portable equipment through general maintenance, plant operations, and preventive maintenance tasks. Inspect systems and buildings to detect existing or potential problems, read blueprints, and analyze situations to develop effective course of action. Perform arithmetic calculations, maintain records, and prepare reports while adhering to uniform electrical and building codes. Requires EPA universal CFC certification within 90 days, two years of recent relevant experience, and advanced knowledge of electrical theory, HVAC, and commercial plumbing systems. Full-time role with 40 weekly hours and a rotating weekend schedule.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
- EPA universal CFC certification within 90 days (not required for SAFH Teamsters)
- 2 years recent relevant experience
- Computer skills and building automation systems experience
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English Language
- Advanced knowledge of electrical theory and procedures for repairing and maintaining the system
- Advanced knowledge of air-conditioning, refrigeration and heating control systems, including air balance and system calibration procedures for repair and maintenance
- Advanced knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and procedures for repair and maintenance
- Advanced knowledge of procedures, materials and tools used in commercial building remodels and cabinet construction
- Advanced knowledge of uniform electrical and building codes
- Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the building and mechanical trades
- Through knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials used in the building trades
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to inspect systems and buildings to detect existing or potential problems
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Ability to analyze situations and develop an effective course of action
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations as required by the job
- Ability to maintain records and prepare reports
- Rotating Weekends

- Continuing Education, keeps skill set current in the Facilities Maintenance by participating is self-study programs, and training made available by recognized groups in the trade such as Center for Studies in Higher Education (CSHE), ASHE, International Facility Management Association (IFMA), & Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA)
