Job Summary
Conduct daily tours and inspections at MER, CDC, and boiler plant locations while overseeing all classifications except General Clerks. Operate, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, control systems, air handling units, pumps, and emergency generators. Distribute preventive maintenance orders and service requests among trades, create material requisitions, and complete shift log paperwork. Trace electrical circuits, operate switchgear, and record inspections for supervisors. Review employee timesheets to ensure accuracy and ensure technicians meet work requirements during designated shifts. Maintain pertinent documents in Maximo and upload reports to O drive per client request.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the operation of central building equipment, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and/or electronic systems
- Experience & proven ability to repair building electrical, plumbing, & HVAC auxiliary systems
- Must have a DC 3rd class engineers license or a Maryland 1st Class Engineers license
- Experience & proven ability to safely secure hydronic and electrical systems for maintenance
- Experience & proven ability to Braze/Solder copper pipe, thread black pipe
- Basic carpentry skills
- Strong knowledge of building auxiliary systems i.e. fire-life safety, standby emergency generators, UPS Systems
- Familiarity with general building systems i.e. vertical lift equipment, overhead doors
- Ability to write, execute written and oral instructions and perform arithmetic calculations
- Strong knowledge of safe work practices and procedures typical for maintenance operations
- Must be capable of attaining an L security clearance
- Ability to safely wear a respirator, climb ladders, enter confined spaces, lift heavy objects and perform other physically demanding tasks
- Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and to move objects in excess of 100 pounds
- Ability to travel by government or company vehicle to work location or to other destinations as required
