Job Summary
Operate boilers, engines, compressors, and generators while adjusting fuel feeds, air volumes, and chemical treatments to maintain proper limits. Monitor pressure, draft, and water levels; check safety shut-down equipment, and perform minor repairs or notify supervisors of malfunctions. Disassemble and clean boilers annually, compute air combustion efficiency, and maintain central chiller plant equipment. Inspect mechanical rooms, record readings in logbooks, and submit monthly chemical supply requisitions. Adhere to departmental policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols in extreme temperatures and noisy conditions. Current New Jersey Pressure Steam license required.
Required Qualifications
- Current New Jersey Pressure Steam license
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a licensed stationery and refrigeration engineer
- Basic math skills
- Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position
- High school graduation or equivalent
- Must work in extreme temperatures
- Noisy, dusty, dirty conditions
- Potential of exposure to various contaminants
- Pushes, pulls or moves/lifts heavy equipment/supplies
- Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
Desired Qualifications
