Job Summary
Stationary Engineer operates, maintains, and repairs pumping, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration and related plant machinery in a large complex; responsibilities include operating building management systems/SCADA, testing water quality, handling chemicals, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring safety and compliance. Requires four years of journey-level experience, a CA driver license, and a Universal CFC certificate; may involve hazardous materials handling and emergency response duties; includes preparation for a civil service written examination.
Required Qualifications
- Four (4) years of verified journey-level stationary engineer experience
- Possession of a valid California Driver License
- Possession at time of hire a Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certificate issued by the EPA
- Substitution options include apprenticeship program completion or maritime academy degree or appropriate marine engineer license
