Job Summary
Greet, seat, and service guests with food and beverage requirements in a warm, friendly, and professional manner. Clear, clean, and reset tables as needed while preparing the buffet station and ensuring it is stocked with silverware, plates, and glassware. Handle cashiering functions for closing checks and end-of-shift paperwork, operate the P.O.S. system, and answer telephone inquiries according to standards. Perform opening and closing procedures, side work duties per station rotation, and maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming. Accommodate special guest requests or offer appropriate alternatives while ensuring table and side stands remain tidy and stocked.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet the legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
- Must satisfactorily pass responsible serving such as TIPs as required by property
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Must work well in stressful high pressure situations
- Must be effective at listening to understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred
