Job Summary
Static Stress Engineer (Contract) to perform static analysis for metallic and non-metallic aircraft structures, develop repair solutions, and support airworthiness certification. Responsibilities include performing stress/strength analyses using hand calculations and numerical methods, sizing/documentation, durability and damage tolerance assessments, certification support, and collaboration with Design and Fatigue teams to provide repair solutions for in-service fleets. The role requires a BS in Engineering, 0-6 years of related experience, and proficiency with tools such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, HyperWorks, CATIA, and related engineering workflows. The position is onsite in Wichita, KS with potential remote work consideration depending on business needs; travel up to ~5% may be involved. It is an entry-level contracted position with potential for extension. Preferably additional qualifications include a Master's degree and MRO/Fleet experience, and Python or language skills are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- 0-6 years of analysis experience in airframe design/repair programs
- Experience with classical and numerical stress analysis methods
- Knowledge of airframe design, composites, FAR/JAR/CS/Part 21, Certification
- Proficiency with engineering tools (CATIA, NASTRAN, PATRAN, HyperWorks)
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Authorized to work in the US without current, or future, need of visa sponsorship
