Job Summary
The SOW Writer will create, edit, and maintain electronic Statements of Work (SOWs) and support the Services Operations team in developing strategies for project opportunities. Responsible for drafting and overseeing SOWs, Change Orders, and Subcontractor SOWs, and for overall management of Services Operations contracts. Responsibilities include managing a large volume of SOWs and deadlines, reviewing SOWs for completeness and compliance, developing templates for service delivery, and ensuring readability and usability for delivery teams. Uses Salesforce, SharePoint, Outlook, Smartsheet, Teams, Zoom, and WebEx for communication, tracking, and forecasting. Requires collaboration with vendors, procurement staff, and Project Managers, as well as strong technical writing skills, IT professional services experience, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. Educational requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 4+ years of equivalent experience, plus 2+ years of professional writing experience; excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams. This role emphasizes precision, process improvement, and adherence to security policies in handling client and corporate assets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Communication, Journalism, English, or related area; or 4 or more years’ equivalent work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 or more years’ professional writing experience required; technical writing experience strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of contractual requirements, negotiations, process, and risk preferred
- Experience in IT professional services preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with a team and collaborate across functions
- Ability to communicate ideas and processes professionally to external and internal clients
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient with standard documentation practices and ability to deliver high-quality documentation with attention to detail
- Salesforce experience preferred, or familiarity with other CRM/document management programs
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
