STATED REGISTERED NURSE, MATERNITY WARD

Registered Nurse in Maternity Ward responsibilities include delivering high-quality nursing care, adhering to scope of nursing services, and executing shift duties under Unit Manager instruction. Duties cover patient assessment, handovers, following doctor orders, visiting patients with the care team to re-plan nursing care, maintaining accurate documentation, performing nursing rounds, assisting with CTG monitoring, supporting new mothers with self-care, newborn care, breastfeeding, and family planning, and postnatal home care education. Involves collaboration with the unit manager on care standards, patient transfers/discharges, medication handling, inventory and stock, infection prevention, quality improvement initiatives, and participation in hospital programs and audits (MSQH/JCI, Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative). Requires ongoing professional development, competency evaluation, and carrying out assigned tasks with compassionate, culturally sensitive communication with patients and families. Licensed Malaysian Registered Nurse with active practice license is required.
