Job Summary

Adjunct Faculty for Criminology and Criminal Justice at Metro State University (Minneapolis–Saint Paul metro area). Responsibilities include delivering a student-centered education with in-person, online, and/or hybrid modalities to diverse students; maintaining adherence to minimum qualifications for undergraduate teaching (Master’s or terminal degree in the discipline or JD with related expertise; undergraduate prerequisites including graduate coursework or professional experience as specified); engage with CCSPA college (Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Public and Nonprofit Leadership) and support equity and anti-racism goals; emphasis on urban community engagement and inclusive instruction; position is a fixed-term, part-time adjunct role with open/close dates and per-credit compensation.

Required Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree, or terminal degree (e.g., Ph. D., Ed.D., M.F.A., D.N.P., D.B.A.) in discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A J.D. degree with expertise in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.

D. with expertise in a different discipline or subfield in which they teach and at least 18 semester hour credits of graduate coursework in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A Master’s degree, terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D, M.F.A., D.N.P.), or J. D. with expertise in a different discipline or subfield in which they teach and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (e.g., B.A., B.S., B.S.N., B.F.A.) in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach, and at least 18 semester hour credits of graduate coursework or an equivalent amount of professional certification in the discipline or subfield in which they teach.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (e.g., B.A., B.S., B.S.N., B.F.A.) in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach; and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach or 1 year of work experience and discipline-specific certification.
  • A Master’s degree, terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D, M.F.A., D.N.P.), or J. D. with expertise in a different discipline or subfield in which they teach and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (e.g., B.A., B.S., B.S.N., B.F.A.) in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach, and at least 18 semester hour credits of graduate coursework or an equivalent amount of professional certification in the discipline or subfield in which they teach.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (e.g., B.A., B.S., B.S.N., B.F.A.) in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach; and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach or 1 year of work experience and discipline-specific certification.
  • All faculty teaching graduate level courses must meet one of the following minimum qualifications: A terminal degree (e.g., Ph. D., Ed.D., M.F.A, D.N.P., D.B.A.) in the discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A J.D. degree with expertise in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A Master’s degree in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach and at least 18 semester hour credits of terminal degree graduate coursework in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A Master’s degree in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach; and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D., M.F.A, D.N.P., D.B.A.) in the discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach or J. D. with expertise in a different discipline or subfield in which they teach and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (e.g., B.A., B.S., B.S.N., B.F.A.) in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach; and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach or 1 year of work experience and discipline-specific certification.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (e.g., B.A., B.S., B.S.N., B.F.A.) in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach, and at least 18 semester hour credits of graduate coursework or an equivalent amount of professional certification in the discipline or subfield in which they teach.
