Job Summary
Lead the preparation of Medtronic's state and local income and franchise tax returns while organizing internal and external deliverables, including compliance milestones and workplans. Manage state tax credits and incentives, collaborate with the Controversy Team, and prepare quarterly and year-end ASC 740 state deliverables. Train US Tax Operations team members on state income tax concepts, review estimated income tax liabilities, and perform tax research to resolve questions and assist senior leaders in strategic decisions. Maintain a continuous process improvement mindset by incorporating procedural efficiencies, tax technology, and automation strategies. Work on special projects and manage assigned leadership projects within a collaborative environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of state income tax experience (or 3+ years with an advanced degree)
- Experience in Federal income tax compliance
- For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required
- Unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance
- Public accounting and/or large multinational corporate income tax experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Experience with CorpTax, Research Software and SharePoint
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage large projects and responsibilities in a matrixed organization
- Experience managing the successful filing of a large volume of state and local income tax returns for complex corporations and large partnerships
- Strong business writing skills
- Ability and desire to drive process improvements
- Strong analytical skills
