Job Summary
State Registered Nurse, Endoscopy – Provide professional nursing care within the operating theatre and central sterile supply settings, collaborating with Unit Manager to ensure smooth OT operations, preparing the OT and CSSD, escorting patients, and executing duties across scrub, anaesthesia, circulating, and recovery nursing roles. Responsibilities include maintaining patient safety, infection control, documentation, teaching and supervising junior staff, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring clear communication with patients and multidisciplinary teams. The role emphasizes coordination of surgical care, aseptic technique, and adherence to hospital policies, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient-centered care in the OT environment.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Registered with the Nursing Board of Malaysia with a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse
- Post Basic qualification in a related field
- Knowledge and Experience: Registered Nurse with at least 3 years of clinical experience and diversity in clinical experience
- Skills & Competencies: Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP (according to the specialties)
- Proficient in writing and conversing in English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Caring, honest, and responsible workers and team player
- Microsoft Office literacy
- Personal attributes: Leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, critical thinking, negotiation, problem-solving, willingness to work shifts, weekends, holidays and emergencies
- Commitment to patient-centered care and quality improvement
- Knowledgeable and strong believer in quality improvement activities, OSH and infection control standards
- High integrity, patience, and attention to detail
