Job Summary
State Director (NSW) based in Sydney leads VLC’s NSW team (approx. 10 people), delivering projects, developing client engagement and market positioning in alignment with national strategy. Responsibilities include team leadership and capability development, overseeing resourcing and performance; project delivery with focus on quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction; and market engagement with clients, partners and industry stakeholders. The role requires credible leadership, strong commercial judgement, and experience across complex stakeholder environments, with expertise in transport planning, transport modelling, economics or policy preferred. A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, transport planning, economics or public policy is required, with postgraduate qualifications and professional accreditation well regarded; permanent unrestricted Australian work rights are required. The role provides a hybrid work environment and opportunities to influence VLC’s presence in the NSW market.
