Job Summary
As a Startup Accountant (Junior CFO) at Planet Startup, you will support the financial needs of innovative founders and startup clients from day one. Your responsibilities will include assisting clients with their bookkeeping, financial modelling, and management report preparation, while collaborating to improve financial processes. You will manage and reconcile financial data using Xero accounting software, prepare and analyse financial models and management reports, and contribute to a high-performing team focused on exceptional client service to ambitious founders. This role requires over 2 years of professional experience in accounting or finance, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and a passion for working with startups.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce, finance, or a related field
- 2+ years professional experience working with or for early stage, high growth SaaS companies
- A genuine interest in and/or passion for startups
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with Xero, Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools
- General accounting experience
- Experience in commercial decision making
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organised and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, and a team player
