Job Summary
Building Maintenance Worker to perform routine maintenance and repairs related to the buildings systems, grounds and equipment at Startec’s Shepard Shop in Calgary. Responsibilities include inspecting equipment and facilities, maintaining routine inspection reports via CMMS, disassembling/repairing components, scheduling and overseeing contracted maintenance for major repairs, cleaning fixtures and performing a variety of general semi-skilled repairs (electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry), maintaining safe work environments, and coordinating with internal departments and external vendors. Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma
- A trades certificate is required (Electrician preferred, Millwright will be considered)
- 5 years’ experience managing trades/skilled maintenance staff
- Knowledge of HVAC, Electrical and plumbing required
- General repair experience (using hand tools, drywall patches, painting walls, basic plumbing)
- Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office Suite, CMMS
- Detail oriented with ability to meet deadlines
- Strong time management skills
- Working knowledge of Alberta OHS Act, Regulation, and Code
