Job Summary
Provide direct support for up to four individuals with intellectual disabilities and behavioral challenges in community or residential settings. Assist recipients in identifying and communicating their needs while implementing services aligned with START Team goals. Maintain a therapeutic environment by understanding personal histories, social networks, and individual hopes. Implement effective crisis management protocols and collaborate with team members for integrated care. Requires a valid driver's license, CPR certification, and physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs. Full-time 1st shift position at $19.00/hr in New Bern, NC.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience
- Direct support experience with individuals with mental health and intellectual disabilities who have serious behavioral challenges
- Experience with crisis management
- Valid driver's license
- Personal vehicle insurance coverage for liability
- CPR certification
- First Aid certification
- Ability to lift 30 lbs
- Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs
- Ability to pull a minimum of 50 lbs
- Ability to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop
- Ability to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Ability to regularly stand and walk
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting

- Completion of company sponsored training and certifications specified and or required by future company regulations
- Successful completion of pre-employment screening
- Name check in the registries (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)

- Proof of employment history or references
- Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle
