Job Summary
Lead department operations in a retail store by ordering and maintaining inventory, validating received orders, and managing team stocking, production, and date-sensitive rotation. Execute weekly and period Flight Plans, manage scheduling and payroll expenses, and develop department goals and forecasts. Conduct daily huddles, manager meetings, and district-level communications while ensuring food safety, safety guidelines, and company standards are followed. Maintain a clean, well-stocked department and take immediate corrective action for non-compliance. This role requires a high school graduate with two years of retail experience, strong leadership skills, and proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Located in Goshen, Indiana, this position offers competitive benefits and supports the C&S Wholesale Grocers family of companies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED)
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Ability to work in a varied temperature retail store environment
- Ability to be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Ability to work in a low to moderate noise level environment
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of retail experience preferred
- One-year supervisory experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bookkeeping skills
- Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment
- Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
- Good knowledge of retail store operations
- Knowledge of retail management systems
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate in Spanish
