Job Summary
Execute Starbucks barista duties by curating handcrafted food quality, producing beverages to specifications, and maintaining an inviting dining area. Greet guests within 10 feet, resolve issues to ensure smooth shopping experiences, and end transactions with sincere thanks. Uphold food safety and OSHA guidelines by monitoring temperatures, recording inventory, and processing damaged or recalled items. Support the Drive Up process, manage replenishment and instocks, and complete all required training and certifications. Work in a fast-paced environment handling merchandise up to 44 pounds while adhering to adult beverage laws and safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- Previous Starbucks/food service experience preferred, but not required
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
- Work both independently and with a team
- Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
- Attention to detail and follow multi-step processes
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
- Interpret instructions, reports and information
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
- Climb up and down ladders if needed
- Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving product up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); come to work when scheduled, work scheduled shifts and take required meal and rest breaks
- Ability to work in environments that will include refrigeration and freezer temperatures and conditions; where common allergens may also be handled or present
- Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties, including but not limited to Drive-Ups, carryout, etc.
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shifts (shift length may vary)
- Complete all required training requirements and certifications related to quality control of Starbucks products
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
- Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU) and Drive-up (DU) and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws
