Job Summary
Prepares, brews, and serves coffee and related beverages (espresso drinks, teas) following established recipes; maintains stock levels and product quality, monitors dates and storage conditions; promotes sales through suggestive selling; stacks pallets and organizes products per efficiency standards; ensures a clean, safe, and sanitary store environment; provides friendly customer service, takes orders by phone and in person; operates espresso equipment and scales, and collaborates with team members to foster a supportive, collaborative environment; schedules are flexible and may include nights, weekends, and holidays; requires completion of Starbucks Barista Basics Training and a Food Handler certification, with six+ months of related experience or equivalent education.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age required
- Food Handler certification required
- Completion of Starbucks Barista Basics Training Program required
- Six or more months of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required
- Ability to read and operate digital equipment, meters, dials, and/or calibrated scales
- Ability to learn new systems, methods, or processes
- Ability to use precision and non-precision hand tools
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and partners in written and verbal form
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard
