Job Summary
Prepare, brew, and serve coffee, espresso drinks, and teas while maintaining stock levels and monitoring product quality. Adhere to food safety standards by stocking and rotating goods, and promote sales through suggestive selling initiatives. Stack pallets, sort products, and maintain a clean, safe environment by following company safety procedures. Greet customers, answer questions, and take orders in person or by phone with a friendly attitude. Operate digital equipment, espresso machines, and commercial ovens safely. Work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays. Complete Starbucks Barista Basics Training and Food Handler certification.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Six or more months of related experience
- Food Handler certification
- Completion of Starbucks Barista Basics Training Program
- Ability to read and operate digital equipment, meters, dials, and/or calibrated scales
- Ability to safely operate hazardous tools and equipment such as an espresso machine, coffee grinder, commercial ovens, etc.
- Ability to learn new systems, methods, or processes
- Ability to use precision and non-precision hand tools
- Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and partners in written and verbal form
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible
- Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor
- Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus
- Continuously required to stand or walk
- Frequently required to talk and hear
- Frequently required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling
- Frequently required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs
- Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 75 lbs
- Occasionally required to bend, kneel or squat
- Attendance at work is required
