Job Summary
Manage the Starbucks department and associates to maximize sales and profitability by controlling product loss and enforcing company standards. Delegate workload fairly, provide exceptional customer service through active engagement and product knowledge, and ensure all safety policies, health codes, and OSHA guidelines are followed. Prepare and accurately conduct physical inventory, monitor reclaim reports, and maintain adequate stock levels while rotating items for freshness. Merchandise the department daily, implement marketing programs, and control labor through proper scheduling based on weekly projections. Assist the Store Manager with performance reviews, recruiting new associates, and leading department head meetings. Complete weekly projections and ensure all policy and procedures are followed for the safety of associates, customers, and the company.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- Knowledge of how to mix various Starbucks coffee and tea products
- Knowledge of the ingredients that go into various products
- Work with various Starbucks ingredients including various coffees, teas, spices, nuts, flavorings, sauces, and oils
- Three to five years' experience in retail and/or Starbucks operations
- Operating as an assistant Starbucks manager for at least one year
- Completion of Starbucks All Store Training program
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions
- Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks
- Ability to have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis
- Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts
- Adherence to company time and attendance policies
Desired Qualifications
- College degree
- Additional seminar/class training in leadership, employee and customer relations
