Job Summary
Portray all aspects of the patient scenario, including history, affect, behavior, and physical findings in a standardized, accurate, and reliable manner. Provide written and face-to-face verbal feedback to nursing students and supervising faculty while accepting ongoing feedback to incorporate into case simulations. Respond to e-mails in a timely fashion and maintain punctuality for scheduled appointments. Support the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission. Work approximately 10-15 hours per week during weekday simulations running from 7:30am for 5-6 hours. Compensation is $27 per hour. Applicants must have reliable transportation, a high school diploma, and the ability to travel to the facility. Training is provided, and the role requires passing required patient competencies before deployment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Ability to work a flexible schedule of appointments
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to travel to scheduled facility
- Ability to provide individualized feedback on interpersonal and clinical skills
- Ability to accurately and consistently portray the history, personality, physical findings, emotional structure and response pattern of an actual patient, family member, health care provider, or needed role
- Ability to provide written and face-to-face verbal feedback to the student and supervising faculty member
- Ability to accept ongoing feedback and incorporate that feedback into case simulation
- Ability to respond to e-mails in a timely fashion
- Ability to be on time and keep scheduled appointments
- Ability to provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University
- Pass the required patient competencies before being deployed as a standardized patient
