Job Summary
Under direction of supervisor, safely transport incoming and outgoing merchandise using appropriate tools including handheld devices, forklifts, and electric pallet jacks. Perform quality inspections on goods, ensure accurate recording, and sort items on racks or bins per inventory procedures. Accurately pick and pack customer orders while removing damaged merchandise and maintaining proper stock rotation. Keep safety as a priority for pedestrian traffic and equipment operation, wearing required PPE. Maintain a clean dock and aisles, participate in quality improvement efforts, and perform administrative tasks and customer assistance as assigned. This role supports the regional leader in wholesale commerce serving the U.S. and Mexico, with a focus on accurate and timely supply delivery.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience or equivalent
- Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods
- Current Forklift Certification for stand-up forklift 3500 lbs
- High School graduate or GED
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
- Acute attention to detail
- Ability to maintain high scanning accuracy
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE, examples: Safety Belt, High Visibility Vest)
- Frequently required to stand and walk
- Occasionally required to sit
- Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
- Continually required to climb ladders, balance, bend, stoop, or kneel
- Frequently required to talk or hear
- Frequently utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
- Frequently work near moving mechanical parts
- Frequently work in high, precarious places
- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions
- Frequently exposed to extreme cold temperatures ranging from -10 to 40
- Frequently required to lift/push/carry items less than 25 pounds and up to 80 pounds
- Frequent loud noise (examples: forklift horn, forklift back up alarm)
