Job Summary
Operate overhead, bridge, gantry, or jib cranes safely while reading load charts and lifting instructions to secure work pieces in fixtures or automatic feeding devices. Start machines, engage feeds, and adjust controls to meet production schedules, performing sample inspections and testing to verify conformance to specifications. Maintain good housekeeping, complete necessary reporting, and communicate abnormal situations to the Team Leader or Group Leader. Replace worn accessories as needed and suggest kaizen changes to increase equipment efficiency. Requires ability to perform pre-operation inspections, identify defects, and apply basic mechanical aptitude for reporting maintenance issues. Shifts are 1st and 2nd with 5:30 AM/PM start times.
Required Qualifications
- 1st and 2nd Shift availability
- 5:30 AM/PM start time
- Safe operation of overhead, bridge, gantry, or jib cranes
- Ability to read load charts and lifting instructions
- Knowledge of rigging, slings, chains, hooks, and lifting devices
- Ability to perform pre-operation inspections and identify equipment defects
- Basic mechanical aptitude
