Job Summary

Conduct root cause analysis of press, die, and quality concerns using structured problem-solving methodologies to optimize transfer press processes and die performance. Troubleshoot forming, trimming, piercing, flanging, restrike, and transfer-related issues while developing countermeasures to improve die reliability and process stability. Lead continuous improvement activities utilizing Toyota Production System principles to reduce downtime, enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness, and implement automation and new manufacturing technologies. Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Die Maintenance teams to resolve dimensional and cosmetic defects, coordinate engineering changes, and manage assigned projects to completion.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field
  • Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and extensive stamping engineering experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in metal stamping manufacturing
  • Strong experience with transfer press operations
  • Experience supporting large mechanical stamping presses
  • Experience troubleshooting automotive stamping dies
  • Experience working closely with Die Maintenance
  • Experience supporting automotive manufacturing
  • Experience with Toyota Production System or Lean Manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of: Blueprint reading
  • Strong working knowledge of: Transfer press operations
  • Strong working knowledge of: Progressive, tandem, and transfer dies
  • Strong working knowledge of: Die maintenance principles
  • Strong working knowledge of: Metal forming processes
  • Strong working knowledge of: Die protection systems
  • Strong working knowledge of: Press automation
  • Strong working knowledge of: Material flow
  • Strong working knowledge of: High-strength steel forming
  • Strong working knowledge of: Problem Solving
  • Strong working knowledge of: Root Cause Analysis
  • Strong working knowledge of: PFMEA
  • Strong working knowledge of: Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Strong working knowledge of: Microsoft Office Suite
