Job Summary

Create and maintain comprehensive staff schedules ensuring adequate coverage across all shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations. Adjust schedules for last-minute changes, monitor time-off requests, and coordinate replacements to maintain appropriate staffing levels aligned with census and resident care needs. Track attendance, manage call-offs, and ensure compliance with labor laws, union contracts, and facility policies while serving as the primary point of contact for scheduling inquiries. Collaborate with department heads, nurses, and HR to address staffing shortages, support recruitment efforts, and integrate new hires into the schedule. Participate in on-call rotations as needed to respond to urgent staffing situations outside regular hours.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in staffing, scheduling, or administration in a healthcare or long-term care setting

Desired Qualifications

  • Degree or certification in healthcare administration, business, or a related field
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with staff and management
  • Proficiency in scheduling software, electronic health records (EHR), and other administrative tools
  • Knowledge of labor laws, healthcare staffing regulations, and overtime management
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
