Staffing Coordinator

Job Summary
Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly nursing schedules aligned with patient census, acuity, and staffing ratios. Proactively anticipate staffing needs by coordinating with internal staff and utilizing agency or per diem resources. Respond promptly to call-ins, unexpected absences, and fluctuations in patient census to ensure adequate coverage across all shifts. Track and approve time off requests while maintaining clear communication with nursing units regarding schedule changes and mandatory overtime. Utilize staffing software to input schedules, track attendance, and generate reports on metrics such as overtime usage and vacancy rates. Requires a current vocational nursing license, BLS certification, and experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
Required Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered license to practice vocational nursing in the state where currently practicing
- Current BLS via the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience with staffing in an inpatient rehabilitation hospital setting
- Familiarity with patient classification/acuity systems
- Speaks and communicates English effectively in verbal and written format; writes legibly
- Reading and comprehension at the level necessary to perform job duties appropriately
- Functions proficiently in a Microsoft Windows environment (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Desired Qualifications
- Current ACLS certification via the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
