Staffing Coordinator - CNA or LVN

Job Summary
Coordinate nursing staff schedules in a long-term care skilled facility to ensure appropriate coverage and regulatory compliance. Manage daily, weekly, and monthly staffing schedules, monitor real-time adjustments for call-offs and census changes, and serve as the primary contact for scheduling issues. Collaborate with Administrator, Director of Nursing, and Human Resources to recruit, onboard, and orient clinical staff. Maintain accurate records of staff assignments, attendance, and overtime for payroll and reporting; monitor compliance with federal/state/local staffing regulations; participate in quality improvement initiatives; communicate effectively with staff, residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Keep a log of staff contacted for open positions and strive to limit overtime by distributing opportunities evenly among staff.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; nursing degree preferred
- Previous experience in healthcare staffing, scheduling, or administrative support, ideally in a long term care or skilled nursing environment
- Knowledge of state and federal staffing requirements for skilled nursing facilities
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with scheduling software, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
