Job Summary
The Staff Veterinarian in Shelter Medicine is responsible for delivering exceptional diagnostic, treatment, and surgical services primarily for canine and feline patients, alongside occasional exotic species. Key responsibilities include performing clinical and surgical duties in a high-volume spay/neuter and medical center, providing mentorship and clinical guidance, communicating treatment plans to clients, and maintaining high ethical standards. Candidates must hold a DVM and be licensed to practice in Oregon, showing excellent surgical skills and the ability to manage infectious diseases in a shelter environment. This role includes engaging in community outreach and maintaining productive relationships with stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- DVM from an accredited academic institution
- Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Oregon or able to acquire within six months of hire
- Demonstrated surgical and medical diagnostic abilities in a high-volume veterinary setting
