Staff Therapist - Occupational Therapy

Job Summary
Occupational Therapist collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to plan and provide OT input for residents in Long-Term Care, PRIME program participants, Acute Care, and Out-Patient Programs. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, implementing interventions, planning and designing services to meet occupational performance goals, and supporting healthy lifestyles and prevention of illness. Requires strong communication, teamwork, evidence-based practice, and the ability to work independently or in a team; opportunities to contribute to quality improvement and professional development in geriatrics and related care settings.
Required Qualifications
- Entry-to-practice academic credential in Occupational Therapy from an accredited Canadian university program or approved equivalent (COTM)
- Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM)
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle for home visits (PRIME only)
- CPR training per employer policy
Desired Qualifications
- Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM)
- Membership in the Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists (MSOT) and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) is preferred
- CPR training as per employer policy
- Continuing professional education in designated clinical area preferred
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and possess a vehicle for home visits (PRIME only)
- Experience in Geriatrics required; community setting experience preferred for PRIME program
