Job Summary
Shape the technical evangelism function by defining standards, operating rhythms, and prioritization for executive engagements and campaigns. Deliver talks yourself at conferences and customer-facing events across the Bay Area, representing DigitalOcean with technical depth. Serve as the primary content partner to VPs and C-level leaders, owning decks and narratives from CFP to stage for their most important appearances. Create deep technical content on X, partnering with the Social team to produce videos, demos, and threads for product launches. Build and run brand-aligned technical campaigns, including hands-on labs and workshop materials for enterprise AI-native accounts. This role sits between product marketing and developer advocacy, requiring you to define the quality bar for the company's narrative while serving as a senior creative partner to executives.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in technical marketing, product marketing, solutions engineering, developer relations, or technical content, including experience setting direction for a content function or body of work
- A track record as a speaker: talks you've delivered yourself at conferences or industry events, with the stage presence to represent a company in front of a technically demanding audience
- Enough technical depth to be credible with AI engineers and infrastructure teams — and enough hands-on ability to back it up
- Fluency with AI-assisted creation
- Experience partnering directly with executives on high-stakes content, and the judgment to serve someone else's voice as skillfully as your own
- The ability to hold two modes at once: personal credibility when you're the speaker, and craft satisfaction in making someone else's story excellent when you're not
- Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate; regular in-person presence at Bay Area events is core to the role
Desired Qualifications
- Experience at an AI infrastructure, developer tools, or cloud company
- An active technical presence on X, with an engaged audience of AI practitioners
- Experience mentoring or leading other content creators, formally or informally
- Familiarity with how LLMs and AI coding tools shape technical purchasing decisions
