Job Summary
The Staff Systems Engineer will be based in Hyderabad, India, leading system engineering for solar power plant solutions. Responsibilities include translating product needs into engineering requirements and design solutions, system architecture design, defining and verifying system-level requirements, driving disciplines through development to mass production, creating test plans to validate designs for safety and reliability, developing system-level modelling tools, and automating design processes. Ideal candidate demonstrates leadership, analytical mindset, and a passion for solar energy, with 15-18 years of multi-disciplinary systems experience and advanced degrees (MS/PhD) in engineering. Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and Ansys FEA/ETAP, familiarity with Jama for requirements, FMEA, and knowledge of solar industry codes and standards are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, System Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
- 15-18 years’ experience in designing complex Mechanical products/Systems/Structural/Electrical designs
- Subject matter expert in own domain
- Knowledge of Python, MATLAB, Ansys FEA /ETAP or equivalent
- Experience with requirement management process and tools (Jama preferred)
- FMEA, root cause analysis, investigation of service anomalies
- Understanding of solar industry and mechanical tracking systems
- Knowledge of applicable renewable energy and electrical codes and standards
- Experience operating in a multi-disciplinary and multi-functional environment
- Experience performing trade studies and lifecycle cost analysis
- Experience writing requirement specifications, verification plans and test plans
- Strong eye toward safety, constructability, system maintenance
- Experience with system engineering methodologies and product lifecycle
