Job Summary
Staff Support Specialist provides training design, delivery, and coaching for ELOP after-school staff. Responsibilities include conducting training needs assessments, creating and delivering onboarding and professional development modules, developing training materials, observing staff, evaluating training effectiveness, creating support plans, and communicating program needs to stakeholders. The role supports multiple program sites, maintains attendance procedures, stays current on best practices in youth development and after-school programming, and may travel between locations. Requires a High School Diploma or GED, at least 48 college units or paraprofessional credential, DOJ/FBI background clearance, and the ability to design and facilitate trainings, manage materials, and collaborate with staff and partners. Proficiency with computers and MS Office, strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must possess at least 48 semester college units, a county paraprofessional certificate, or successful completion of the Paraeducator Exam
- Minimum one year of experience working with youth in an educational, after-school, or related setting preferred
- Must successfully pass DOJ/FBI background clearance and meet all district and agency employment requirements
- Must obtain and maintain all required clearances, certifications, and trainings
- TB clearance required
- Mandated Reporter Training required (provided by TCF)
- Sexual Harassment Prevention Training required (provided by TCF)
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred
