Staff Substation Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct substation physical and protection design, including yard layouts, grounding systems, control building arrangements, and schematic drawings. Prepare equipment specifications and perform or oversee quality reviews of design facets. Provide construction support through field inspections, compliance documentation, and client presentations to permitting authorities and public interest groups. Lead single- or multi-discipline teams to ensure project success while corresponding with contractors and vendors. Participate in proposal efforts and advance into leadership roles addressing complex utility challenges across North America.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
- Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
- 3 years of electrical engineering experience
- Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment

- Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures
- Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
- Strong computer skills include AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D and 3D rendering programs and other analysis programs
