Job Summary
Design structural components and modify production drawings for power plants, process facilities, healthcare, airports, and commercial projects from conceptual phases through design completion. Review CAD software updates, perform field inspections and calculations for public and private clients, and compile data for client presentations and contract administration. Adapt structural plans to budget constraints and design factors while applying knowledge of codes, procedures, and structural analysis programs such as RISA 3D and ETABS.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program
- Bachelor of Science in Structural or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program
- Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
- Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering
- 3 years of structural engineering experience
- Consulting experience
- Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills
- Strong computer skills
- Proficiency in structural analysis programs (e.g., RISA 3D)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Proficiency in ETABS
- Proficiency in SAFE
- Proficiency in BIM (e.g., Revit and Tekla)
- Strong attention to detail

Desired Qualifications
- Successful completion (i.e. passing) FE or EIT
- Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience
