Staff Specialist Haematologist - Full time permanant

Job Summary
Provide comprehensive haematology care to the region as the regional arm of the Peter Mac haematology service, including clinical oversight of inpatients, outpatient clinics, and outreach clinics. Participate in ward service rosters and on-call/recall duties as required, while actively engaging in clinical trials and contributing to their initiation. Continuously review and improve quality processes, protocols, and policies, and actively participate in peer review and quality assurance activities. Mentor registrars and junior medical staff, and liaise with the Director of Oncology regarding service development and strategic planning. Work four days per week at the public hospital and one day at Peter Mac.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Qualifications registrable by AHPRA
- Post graduate qualifications (FRACP) in internal medicine and haematology or equivalent
- Substantial experience in managing and treating patients with a wide range of haematological conditions
- Experience in conducting clinical research
- Experience in medical education at undergraduate and post graduate levels
- Ability to provide leadership in a multidisciplinary team setting
- Good understanding of the Public Health system; in particular the clinical and quality requirements for oncology service delivery
