Job Summary
Staff Solutions Engineer at Kong responsible for supporting field sales by illustrating value of the Kong API/Connectivity Management platform, detailing customer requirements and how the platform addresses them, guiding PoCs through evaluation, ensuring customer satisfaction across accounts, coordinating with support/product/engineering teams, creating technical documentation for DevOps and services engagements, and contributing to marketing efforts (blogs, webinars, trade shows). Must demonstrate extensive experience in cloud-native technologies, APIs, and AI/LLM, with strong communication and leadership capabilities to engage Product Managers, Engineers, and Executives in a fast-paced startup environment.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years software engineer and/or sales engineer management experience in SaaS/Open Source/Enterprise Software
- Solid understanding of cloud computing trends and open source business models
- Strong listening and communication skills
- Ability to lead discussions with Product Managers, Engineers, and Executives
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and other cloud-native platforms
- Experience with APIs, CI/CD automation frameworks and AI/LLM technologies
