Job Summary
Staff Engineer leading cross-team initiatives to shape the US and Canada regional experiences for Remitly’s remittance platform. Own the technical direction and architecture for customer-facing web and mobile surfaces, services, and integrations, while mentoring engineers across multiple levels and driving design reviews. Hands-on work across TypeScript, React/React Native, Java/Kotlin, and Go; foster AI-native engineering practices; elevate reliability, observability, security, and quality standards; collaborate with product, design, analytics, and engineering leaders to shape roadmaps. Requires 10+ years of software development experience with strong CS fundamentals and the ability to drive large, multi-team initiatives end-to-end. Hybrid in-office arrangement with an expectation of in-office presence to support collaboration (e.g., three days per week).
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of software development experience
- 4+ years of React or React Native development experience
- Advanced expertise in one or more of TypeScript, JavaScript, Kotlin, Java, or Go
- Experience leading team and cross-team design reviews
- Experience using AI throughout the software development lifecycle
- Excellent collaboration skills with track record of influencing across team boundaries
