Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary
Staff Software Engineer to design and deliver core capabilities for SingleStore’s cloud-native, distributed SQL database platform. You will own end-to-end release-defining projects at the intersection of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and database technology, set technical direction, solve complex system-level problems, and act as a force multiplier across Product, Sales, and Go-To-Market teams. Build observable microservice-oriented applications for multi-cloud environments, design novel solutions to raise engineering productivity, and relentlessly improve CI/CD throughput and runtime efficiency. Mentoring others while remaining hands-on and collaborating with customer-facing teams to meet the needs of enterprise customers and new adopters. Role is open across multiple levels (Senior, Staff, or Principal) based on experience and demonstrated technical leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including Python, C/C++, JavaScript, or Go
- B.S. degree in Computer Science or a similar field or equivalent working experience
- Experience with containers and Kubernetes-based applications
- Experience with GitOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Experience with SQL databases
- Strong empathy and collaboration skills
- Passion for Quality Engineering and software testing efficiency
- Deep experience with distributed systems, databases, networking, storage, and multi-tenant services
- Unix/Linux environments
