Job Summary
Staff Software Engineer – Search / AI role leading architecture, design, and delivery of scalable microservices and AI-enabled platforms. Responsible for building cloud-native systems, leading AI/ML integrations (LLMs, RAG, agentic frameworks), and developing scalable data pipelines for real-time and batch processing. Drive intelligent search capabilities, recommendations, and decision-support; Champion CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing, observability, and production readiness. Lead design reviews, API contracts, service governance, and mentorship of engineers while collaborating with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver modular, scalable, and intelligent solutions. Must have extensive experience in microservices design, API development, distributed systems, and familiarity with search technologies (Elastic/OpenSearch/Solr/Lucene) and AI/ML solutions; bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering (full lifecycle)
- 5+ years of experience building enterprise-scale cloud-native applications on GCP, Azure, or AWS
- 5+ years of programming in Java, Python, Kotlin, or Go with backend/API focus
- 3+ years designing and developing microservices architectures including API design and event-driven patterns
- 2+ years integrating AI/ML solutions including familiarity with LLMs, RAG, or AI-enabled applications
- 2+ years designing distributed systems with resiliency, scalability, and fault tolerance
- Experience with search technologies such as Elastic/OpenSearch/Solr/Lucene
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong observability, logging, monitoring, and production support knowledge
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
