Job Summary
Design and implement robust backend frameworks, microservices, and library components to support Okta's Workforce Identity Cloud at global scale. Champion innovative, resilient system designs by advising teams on fault-tolerant architecture and integrating AI-driven developer tooling for automated diagnostics and predictive monitoring. Lead incident Root Cause Analysis to identify systemic weaknesses and drive long-term mitigation strategies while conducting rigorous code reviews to enforce high-quality programming standards. Collaborate with Architects, QA, and Tech Ops to deliver secure, dependable infrastructure that ensures service availability for billions of daily logins.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as a software developer
- deep, expert-level knowledge of Java
- Demonstrated history of architecting, implementing, tuning, and debugging global cloud software
- Deep understanding of microservices
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred, Azure, or GCP)
- Deep understanding of modern container ecosystems (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proven track record of addressing scaling, redundancy, and performance bottlenecks in high-availability, multi-tenant SaaS environments
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills

- Previous experience in a dedicated platform reliability, resilience, or core infrastructure role
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent industry experience

- Golang experience
- Practical experience or strong interest in leveraging generative AI utilities and developer assistance tools (e.g., AI coding assistants, automated code-generation, intelligent log analytics, or predictive profiling tools) to drive development productivity and system optimization
- Previous experience in a dedicated platform reliability, resilience, or core infrastructure role is highly valued
