Job Summary
Hybrid Staff Software Engineer, Planner role focusing on shaping real-world autonomous driving challenges into well-defined engineering problems, developing tools, algorithms and evaluation mechanisms, and scaling real-time systems on the Waymo Driver platform. Work with a team to ensure safe, smooth, and predictable vehicle behavior, coordinating across perception, decision-making, and robotics domains. Ideal candidates have a BS in Computer Science, ML, Robotics or related field (MS preferred), 5+ years of software engineering experience in C++, and experience collaborating across teams; knowledge of motion planning, ML-based systems, and real-time data pipelines is desirable.
Required Qualifications
