Staff Software Engineer (Java) - 3rd Party Integrations

Job Summary
Design the API contracts, runtime abstractions, and microservices for the Singularity Marketplace platform, enabling third-party vendors to safely deploy and stream data across the SentinelOne AI SIEM ecosystem. Develop and extend the Java/Kotlin integrations platform, including event-driven microservices communicating over Apache Kafka, while owning core infrastructure across edge gateways, API routing layers, and high-performance relational databases. Collaborate with product teams to define requirements for ingesting third-party data, mapping it to the Open Cybersecurity Schema Framework, and ensuring OCSF parity. Participate in on-call rotation for multi-region production systems, troubleshoot Kafka lag and reconciliation failures, and contribute to GitOps-driven CI/CD pipelines for deploying services across environments.
Required Qualifications
- Modern Java/Kotlin Ecosystem: Deep hands-on expertise in Java/Kotlin, and Spring Boot
- strong system design fundamentals
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (Apache Kafka or equivalent), including topics, consumer groups, and streaming pipelines
- Ability to research and reverse-engineer APIs from documentation and technical specifications, and model them into structured data schemas
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience - shaping engineering best practices and driving their adoption across a team
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments, including Helm charts, ingress controllers (e.g., Traefik), and operator/reconciler patterns
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or GCP)
- Experience developing integration or contract tests (e.g., pytest) and working within CI/CD pipelines
- Hybrid work in Prague (Karlin), Brno (Clubco) or remote in CZ/SK
- Only Prague-based employees are required to work from the office at least 2 days/week
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Go or Rust
- Familiarity with serverless/FaaS platforms (e.g., AWS Lambda)
- Experience building data-intensive systems (ingestion, transformation, normalization, validation) and integrating complex third-party APIs
- Practical engineering experience building production software utilizing LLMs or AI agents, with an emphasis on evaluation frameworks, testing, guardrails, and data pipeline integration
- Experience operating distributed, multi-region production systems (debugging Kafka consumer lag, ingress/routing issues, connection pool exhaustion, reconciliation failures)
